ORHUN EXCHANGE PROGRAMME
The Orhun Exchange Programme is a multilateral exchange programme carried out among higher education institutions that are members of the Turkic Universities Union (TÜRKÜNİB), operating under the Organization of Turkic States, with the aim of encouraging student and academic staff mobility.
The programme aims to strengthen academic cooperation among universities of the Turkic world within the framework of shared history, language, and cultural ties, and to enable participants to gain knowledge and experience in different educational environments.
Scope of the Programme
Under the Orhun Exchange Programme:
- Undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students,
- Academic staff
may take part in education and academic activities at designated universities for a period of one or two semesters.
Students participating in the programme remain enrolled at their home university throughout their period of study and continue to pay tuition fees to their home institution. No additional tuition fee is charged by the host university.
Objectives of the Programme
- To develop academic cooperation among universities of the Turkic world
- To increase student and academic staff mobility
- To strengthen cultural interaction and solidarity
- To enable participants to gain international experience
Application Requirements (General)
Applicants must:
- Be enrolled as students in formal degree programmes at their university,
- Have a minimum GPA of 2.50/4.00 for undergraduate students,
- Meet the specified academic criteria for graduate students.
Applications are submitted through the relevant university's Orhun Exchange Programme Coordination Office or International Relations Office.
Financial and Administrative Matters
- The sending institution generally covers travel expenses,
- The host institution covers accommodation and basic living needs.
- No cash payment is made to students under the programme.
- Students' existing scholarships and loans may continue.
The Orhun Exchange Programme builds a strong academic bridge among higher education institutions of the Turkic world, offering participants a rich international experience both academically and culturally.
